In March 2025, we had the privilege of filming the Annual BSPHN Conference in Liverpool — a gathering of professionals, researchers and practitioners united by a shared commitment to improving public health through behavioural and social science.

This was an event rooted in purpose, collaboration and knowledge sharing, and our role was to capture that spirit through film.

A Conference Focused on Real-World Impact

The BSPHN conference brought together individuals working across public health, research, policy and practice. Throughout the event, there was a strong emphasis on evidence-based approaches, practical application and meaningful discussion around behaviour change and population health.

Rather than being purely academic, the conference created space for dialogue, reflection and collaboration — highlighting how behavioural science can be applied to real-world public health challenges and community outcomes.

Filming with Intent and Sensitivity

Our approach to filming the conference was deliberately natural and unobtrusive. We focused on capturing genuine moments — speakers sharing insight, delegates engaging in discussion, and the quiet interactions that happen between sessions.

The aim was not just to document what happened on the day, but to reflect the atmosphere of openness, curiosity and shared purpose that defined the event. By keeping the filming style subtle and respectful, the final video feels authentic to both the organisation and its audience.

The People Behind the Work

What stood out most was the people themselves. Professionals deeply committed to improving health and wellbeing at a population level, working collaboratively across disciplines and sectors.

From thoughtful presentations to informal conversations, there was a clear sense of collective responsibility and passion for creating positive change. Capturing this human side of the conference was central to telling the story honestly and effectively.

Why Conference Films Matter

A well-crafted conference video goes beyond recording an event. It becomes a storytelling tool — one that can showcase values, highlight expertise, and communicate purpose to a wider audience.

For organisations working in public health and behavioural science, event films help share knowledge, strengthen professional identity, and extend the impact of the work beyond the conference itself.

Final Reflections

Filming the BSPHN Annual Conference in Liverpool was a meaningful project for us at Nice To Film You. It reinforced the importance of thoughtful storytelling when documenting events built around learning, collaboration and real-world impact.

We’re proud to have captured a moment that reflects not just a conference, but a community working together to improve public health outcomes.

If you’re planning a professional conference or knowledge-sharing event and would like to explore how film can support your story, we’d be happy to help.
